THE BIRTH OF LEE-ANN

In 2017, after being told that I could no longer give birth naturally due to a previous pregnancy that almost take my life away, My husband and I were so glad when discovering that we were pregnant again. It was a bitter sweet moment because we were told that my pregnancy will not make it to term and can end at any moment. Prayers, stress, anxiety were my companions trying to keep my child inside my tummy for as long as I could.

Then at 20 weeks of pregnancy she could not hold it any longer and was ready to come out. I gave birth at 20 weeks to a miracle quite premature baby girl by the name of Lee-Ann. A human being so small, she could fit into the palm of my hand, Lee-Ann was only 1 pound. My depression started right at that moment, when I was told that she only had 5% chance to live and might not make it 

As a result of her early arrival Lee-Ann had to remain at the hospital for 4.5 months. She developed a bad case of eczema. Needless to say, her skin was in bad shape and being so fragile there was not much in term of skin products we could use on her. I decided to make her own body cream with all organic butters,  essential oils, and traditional raw ingredients. To my surprise, we started seeing positive results. Then, I moved on tp handcrafting soaps, diaper rash cream and hair products, etc. using only traditional ingredients from Africa such as the bark of a plant called Triumfetta Pentandra called NKUI which is used to prepare a traditional dish from the Bamileke tribe in Cameroon.

All the medical staff at the neo intensive care unit started noticing a difference on Lee-Ann's skin and there was not a day when people were not paying compliment on how beautiful her skin looked, how smooth her skin felt, and how good she smelled. In 2018 I was so dedicated to handcraft natural organic soaps then followed by skin and hair care products for my daughter, my husband and family members. After noticing so many positive results, That’s when the light bulb went on and the idea of launching a beauty line of natural products with traditionally selected ingredients was born.

Lee-Ann was such a premature baby girl with a low life percentage of survival. Living in the United States, we were so lucky to be able to have financial and emotional assistance from the states. We were given all the financial supports necessary to overcome this difficult situation, and we are so grateful for that. But unfortunately, people in African do not have the same luxury.
